Lilia Leshan has been facilitating healing through the arts since 1999. She is passionate about helping people to express and explore who they are at all stages of their lives. She has worked extensively with children and adolescents using play therapy and expressive arts. She also works with adults and couples exploring the intersections of intimacy, sexuality, subjectivity, and relationships.
She holds the many and various ways that identity can look and feel; and is dedicated to what is true for each person. She supports each of her clients to stay with their own paces and rhythms as they discover how to move through what life brings with increased grace, strength, and ease.
Her work is deeply informed by psychodynamics, Jung and Archetypal Psychology, eastern and earth based spiritualities, and post structural gender theories.
She earned her BA in Gender Studies and Performance at Mills College and her MA in Counseling Psychology at CIIS. She completed the Level 1 Training for the Treatment of Trauma at the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. She also has training in dance, drama, art, poetry, music, dreamwork, somatic, and sandplay therapies.
